£400 RAISED
Despite the appalling weather
on Saturday 17th October,
the second 50-50 auction in
the old Reading Room was well
attended. Hazel Hutton and
others had assembled about
300 lots that came under Den
Eaton's hammer from 2 o'clock.
The bidding was generally
brisk with a Morris Minor
1000 reaching £27, an almost
new cooker was knocked down
for £62, and some prints
fetched £30. By 5 o'clock
£400 had been raised for the
new Village Hall.
