A little background...

Oxfordshire County Council has over all control of the county, but the whole of Oxfordshire is quite large and for ease of local council government is divided into five main 'districts'.
The parish of Sandford on Thames comes within the South Oxfordshire District Council part of Oxfordshire.

The South Oxfordshire District is further divided in to 'wards' each of which can be made up of several parishes.
'Sandford Ward' is one such area of the South Oxfordshire Disctict, which is made up of the parishes of:
Culham and Clifton Hampden (including Burcot) in the south, with Nuneham Courtenay in the centre, and Sandford on Thames in the north.
We have an elected member for the 'Sandford Ward' to represent our interests on the South Oxfordshire District Council.

'Sandford Ward' together with the adjacent 'Berinsfield Ward' also make up the 'Berinsfield and Dorchester Division' of the Oxfordshire County Council, as show in the plan below.
We also have an elected member to represent us at the higher County Council level of government.
