SANDFORD ON THAMES PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of the meeting of the Parish Council held Monday 1st December 2008 7.00pm in the village hall.

Matters arising
Re road matters, N Northcott and M Hills had attended an area workshop
meeting at SODC and consequently emailed various Oxon county officials and since then some
action had taken place at the mini roundabout, some damaged pavements, Church Road junction and
wharf area. This was most encouraging.
Clerk would contact King's Arms pub regarding the damaged plank on the footbridge.
The new dog bin was in place on north end of Four Pillars footpath.
New bus shelter was nearly finished.
County Councillor's report
This was covered under matters arising.
District Councillor's report
New planning rules for extensions - some rules had been relaxed.

SODC has launched a new search feature on its website called My South Oxfordshire. This makes it
easier to find information on council services relating to property eg rubbish collection, planning
applications all in one place. SODC will implement cleaner neighborhood act next April.
A public meeting is to be organized in January when the new waste disposal contractor is selected.

Risk assessment and review of effectiveness of internal audit. All items had been
assessed and reviewed as appended and agreed. Bank reconciliation at half year was
presented and agreed to balance.

Budget 2009/10 (appended) This was agreed as draft plus 6,900 approx. to be spent
on redoing safety surfacing at Broadhurst Gardens and allowing 4,500 towards new
play equipment. The precept would be 25,000.00

Freedom of Information Act. The parish council has agreed to adopt the model
scheme titled Model Publication Scheme for Local Councils (Core Classes only) and
will publish information in accordance with that scheme.

P08/W1185/RET single storey conservatory 20 Rock Farm Lane (Retrospective) no comment.

Matters raised
Police community support officer, Ken Cooney, would be asked to supply an email
report to K Welch before all parish council meetings if he couldn't attend the meeting. Also he
would be consulted re the safety/legality of cars parked on pavements near new mini roundabout.
An update of the village directory was being prepared.
Next year would be the 5yr anniversary of the Village Plan so it should be revised and updated soon.
The next N.A.G. meeting would be held at the Merry Bells in Wheatley on 16th January.
It was agreed to spend 500.00 on equipment for the youth club.
