Matters raised
The re galvanizing and enamelling of the 'No Dogs' signs was in hand.
There had been no progress on traffic calming except for a strip of red tarmac with white 30 painted on it
at the southern end of Henley Road.
The pavements were in a bad state from Heyford Hill Lane to the
Four Pillars entrance and chairman urged people to write to Highways as individuals to reinforce
letters written by the council officially.
The absence of styles at entrances to footpath crossing land behind the church was noted.
The VHMC had requested a litter pick up and barbecue day; this would have to wait for better weather.
H Hutton again raised the difficulties of crossing Grenoble Road for pedestrians trying to get to the
village. Even for the able bodied it is hazardous.
M Robson asked whether it would be possible to change the day of grasscutting from Monday
because youth club met on Tuesdays and a lot of cut grass was brought in to the hall when the
children played outside. The clerk would try to arrange this.
A letter had been received from a group of village residents asking whether the parish council had
any powers to prevent un-neighbourly building works from being carried out. SODC had been
contacted and their guidelines issued to those concerned but the parish council had no powers in the matter.
