Matters arising
Standard dog signs are available free from SODC. A4 signs saying 'No dogs'
can be ordered from a manufacturer and will cost £30 each. M Norton will collect some from
SODC for the moment. Donnington Hosp. Trust has written explaining measures taken to fence
their property against motor cyclists and also tree cutting on Henley Rd. Clerk to write to complain
of mess left on Henley Rd.
County Councillor's report
N Northcott welcomed J Howell attending his first Sandford parish
council meeting and on behalf of the council congratulated him on his success in the recent bye
election. J Howell reported on progress of the fight against development in the Green Belt. With
regard to the housing proposed Boris Johnson (MP) has written as he promised to all Conservative
members of the County Council. J Howell had met R Dudding at the county council and apparently
the officers are not happy with the present proposal in the Draft Plan, they would prefer the
dispersed option. However, the officers were still recommending that the proposals for gravel
extraction remain. This would have considerable effect on Sandford because of much increased
heavy traffic and so the fight would go on to the examination in public which was timetabled to
start in June/July and then be adjourned until October/November. The housing proposal could also
return at that time even if it were omitted at this stage by councillors changing their minds.
Matters for consideration
 |
 |
Traffic calming - Peter Egawhary has now been moved on and we have been asked to refer
any problems to R Dix. The parking problem is not quite so bad at the moment but it was
resolved to continue to press for the junction change at Church Rd. |
 |
 |
ROsPA playground inspection. This would be deferred until after next inspection around
July. |
 |
 |
Village appraisal - progress report. Steve Daniels attended and spoke about the progress of
the appraisal (report appended) All was going well and on schedule. There had been a
response rate of 45% to the questionnaire which was very good. The youth response was not
very good and a different approach would be tried in the future. |
 |
 |
Report on Green Belt. This was covered by the County Councillor's report. |
Planning P04/W0169 95 Henley Rd two storey extension to rear - no objections
