THE STADIUM AND THE OZONE


This section of the progress report covers:

 The Ozone


The local Ozone and Stadium is very close to the village
and as the site develops, and the fortunes of Oxford United change,
they will continue to have an impact on the village.
There are new plans to build a 87 bed hotel adjacent to the old Priory.







1. INCREASE AWARENESS
spot    "To help achieve greater awareness of the centre through the website and services directory."

The local links section of the web site, has Oxford United football stadium, the Vue multi-screen cinema and ten pin bowling.
The new Health and Fitness centre is now open, also there is a new Frankie & Benny's "New York - Italian Restaurant" and the new OXY Oriental restaurant, and a Gala Bingo along with an Oxford United Club shop.




2. MINIMISE TRAFFIC IMPACT
Kassam spot    "To continue liaison with the Kassam Stadium, Ozone Centre and Thames Valley Police, to seek further ways to minimise the impact of increased traffic levels upon the village."

This is being currently being considered along with other traffic measures in the village, but recently the football traffic seems to have reduced somewhat along with Oxford United's position in the league.

E6 The leisure complex development will cause more nuisance for the village.
F7 When the Leisure Centre opens at the Stadium, this will be a great benefit.
