The Draft Action Plan was delivered to all households in the village in time for the Village Fete,
where the Appraisal Group had a stall with the consultation results on show.
This was intended to offer an opportunity to discuss the findings with us and
talk to the group and find out more about the appraisal progress and the Draft Action Plan.
It would also have been a ideal time to drop off completed feedback forms.
Our event at the village fete turned out to be slightly disappointing.
Not only with the unsettled weather, and the reduced number of expected visitors,
but with the apparent lack of reaction to the Draft Action Plan.
Whilst all the 19 feedback forms received were supportive, it was felt that this response (about 3¼%)
cannot be considered to be representative or provide the strong 'mandate' needed to move forward.
However the lack of comment on the Draft Action Plan,
could also be seen to imply that most people were happy with the proposals,
and didn't feel the need to comment more, than they had already in the village questionnaire.
Taking the latter approach, and considering the feedback received,
the Draft Action Plan will continue to form the basis of our final Parish Plan.
For completeness the feedback received is produced below:

Strong commonality in Heyford Hill responses (see below) suggests a lobbying activity.
Replies noted from only 2 Parish Council Members and 1 Appraisal Group Member.
General Comments:
If I were quite a number of years younger I would be only too willing to offer help !
Many congratulations on the team's goof work & all the best in the future. Unfortunately, much as I would like to assist in the future, I am unable to, owing to continuing ill-health. Keep the good work going.
A very interesting and informative report. Thank you.
In places the plan would benefit from tighter editing and careful attention to editing - the homes section on Page 3 is an example. It contains a number of potentially confusing statements.
It all sounds good.
This is an excellent appraisal, with thanks due to the authors.
Thank you for all your hard work.
We did not receive the initial survey. These are all good suggestions.
Sadly we are leaving the village soon. But if housing becomes affordable, we hope to return.
Unfortunately, much as my wife and I would like to be involved in help and assistance in the village, we feel that, as we are both retired, it is a little too much for us.
At our age, we feel unable to take on any more activities, and that the village would be better served by bringing on younger people, as in the Appraisal.

Action Plan Comments
I can help with liaison with the Sandford Lock Development. I noticed that few of us responded to the survey. (Church Road)
Would welcome the appointment of an individual to be responsible to the village for following up all problems. (Henley Road)
Communications
Services Directory a good idea. More info on the Noticeboards. (Batten Place)
New Residents to get welcoming documents like these. (Church Road)
It would be very helpful for newcomers if the noticeboards were used more and better. (Batten Place)
Recycling
Traffic
2 Further Lane restrictions as in Littlemore. (Church Road)
Cars parked either side of Broadhurst Gardens make exit difficult. (Broadhurst Gardens)
Please do not erect dangerous posts and chicanes as in Oxford road, Littlemore. Parked vehicles at Broadhurst Gardens cause blind spots. Mirror or parking restrictions needed. (Broadhurst Gardens)
Cars are still not giving way by hospital causing accidents. Yellow lines needed. Top of our road needs a mirror. (Broadhurst Gardens)
Cars parked in Heyford Hill Lane either side of Broadhurst Gardens make exit very difficult. (Broadhurst Gardens)
Heyford Hill Lane junction with Broadhurst Gardens is a death trap. (Pheasant Walk)
Housing
I would prefer any starter homes to be spread throughout the village. (Batten Place)
We agree that people need homes but we must keep some Green Belt. Small blocks of housing are better. (Pheasant Walk)
Policing
Village Environment
Roadsides with grass and weeds makes it look untidy. (Broadhurst Gardens)
The roadsides along Broadhurst Gardens need the weeds to be removed more frequently. They get missed out when Heyford Hill is attended to. (Broadhurst Gardens)
