- Probably would like to have clubs to use, but do not yet know what there already is
- Because we are 2 working adults with 2 young children, we do not have much spare time
- The traditional village activities such as fete, quiz, river run, flower festival and harvest lunch are good
- Don't really know what is there already
- Youth 13-17 yrs No where to meet
- Play group for under 4 years old.
- Maybe a football team.
- Fitness class after 7:30pm
- It would be lovely for there to be more "village" activity - though there is some, doesn't necessarily appeal to everyone.
- As I live opposite the thing and have to put up with the noise, mess, anti-social behaviour and as someone who has had to clear up the mess and report excess behaviour to the police, I am not that enamoured with the place. BUT there needs to be more things planned to bring villagers together & I guess this is the only place to do it.
- Community activities are important.
- Art classes (still life / costume life)
- Keep fit for everyone (battle against obesity)
- Interesting idea re: village hall. I don't know what type of activities are currently done. No current ideas my self.
- It would be lovely to have a monthly social at the village hall in Sandford. I feel we are cheated out of this necessary function of village life. It seems we are the only village denied this in Oxfordshire (please help).
- Exercise groups - pilates or yoga
- There should be more available to the teenagers of the village, to save them hanging around and annoying people in the village.
- Activities for children between 7 - 12, scout groups, cycling rides, treasure hunts etc. Also organise more events/occasions where village people can meet and socialise.
- Yes but it would depend on the needs and interests of a viable group of like minded individuals.
- Club for the 10-16 year olds to stop them congregating on corners in Broadhurst Gardens and on Cowley road Littlemore and to stop mopeds up and down Broadhurst Gardens and on the green in better weather.
- If the village hall facilities were improved it might be possible to have more illustrated talks and learning groups. The excellent talk on Roses given by Mr John Mattock, was very well attended, but a greater degree of comfort would have been appreciated.
- Keep fit classes in day time
- Evangelising meetings seem good so more of them would be ok.
- To get a sense of community regular events are very important.
Suggestions
- Youth Club
- Local Cubs & Scouts
- Brownies & Guides
- Occasional social get-togethers in the evening or sporting events e.g. football round robin would be good too. Would the Four Pillars be prepared to enter into different leisure arrangement with the village e.g. build another tennis court and operate a 'pay per session' arrangement, using their changing facilities.
- Hobbies group ie. Model trains etc.
- Yoga, aerobics or other fitness classes
- Summer play scheme - which was brilliant for the children & very popular.
- Brownies / cubs etc
- Maybe a younger youth club 5-10 approx
- Holiday / play schemes of after school club in village hall could be useful
- Boys football club
- Exercise class
- Exercise classes at times convenient for working people - perhaps at 4 pillars if not the village hall.
- Village hall - lets have regular wine tasting sessions! Is there keep fit? Self defence might be fun. Drama?
- More fetes (once a year is not enough) / village parties
- Local business could provide "service" days / open days
- Meet police more there on open days & MP (who?) & service providers etc
- Local pubs could provide "family" events based there (daytime!) with themes / around certain events etc.
- Table top & boot sales attract everyone.
- Local cricket team
- Keep fit & drama classes I might attend (Morris dance team for Sandford! joking!)
- Folk club
- Local history talks
- It would be necessary to find out peoples interests within the village. There are a number of art & craft workshops or courses I would be interested in attending.
- Snooker / pool for kids / adults
- How about a Badminton club
- Classes for pensioners ie keep fit
- Play schemes for summer holidays
- Youth club 13-16 year olds.
- Cubs, brownies & scout clubs
- A book club, an outdoor activities club, (ie walking, climbing, canoeing etc), T'ai hi, yoga, a singles club for 25-35 year olds!
- I'd like to see a yoga & meditation class run in the village hall. If a teacher can be found then I'd look into opening and closing village hall for the event.
- There should ?? be at least one tennis court, and more courses and events at the village hall.
- Village dance disco for teens etc.
- Village dance for middle ages
- Weight Watchers after work?
- Clubs for Bridge, Brownies
- Whist drives, afternoon teas (weekends) to raise funds for St. Andrew's Church. Flower Arranging classes.
- Over 50's clubs
- Scouts
- Other parishes seem to hold the occasional car-boot sale. This seems a good way to raise money at £5-£8 a pitch without being a burden. Maybe a discount for villagers. It's also environmentally friendly recycling of unwanted items.!
- Something adult for youth e.g. car and bike maintenance, computer club, meaningful construction projects.
- Patchwork and languages.
- Monthly community social event. Live music.
- Yoga
- Some kind of exercise class - yoga etc
- Evening classes at the hall (Yoga, dance, art subjects and general interest)
- Hold social, educational and cultural events.
- Bridge club, amateur dramatics
- Would like art classes, bowling green and dancing classes.
- Disco dancing for kids, Yoga classes, Tai Kwon Do, Football club
- Ballroom Dancing, Line dancing, country dancing, Discos etc
- A drop in for older teenagers would be worth considering
- Village Xmas party. Street Party/village green area
- We should have regular village events - I love organising such things.
